How laser hair removal works with GentleMax Pro

Laser and light-based treatments have been used for years in a wide range of medical and cosmetic applications.

The GENTLEMAX PRO laser combines two fast and powerful lasers: the Alexandrite for light skin tones and the nd-YAG for Dark skin tones. The lasers work together by destroying hair follicles,  through a series of treatments without harming the surrounding skin.

This treatment gently and effectively removes any kind of hair, except for grey hairs, regardless of the patient’s skin type     (fair or dark skin).

What is the duration of treatment?

The duration of treatment varies depending on your specific needs.

Hair regrowth diminishes with each treatment, but the number of sessions required depends on the hair type and colour, the area treated, and the

patient’s skin phototype.

Do I have to grow out my hair to have laser hair removal done?

NO! The best part of having Laser done is that once you finally decide to take that step you never have to look at that unsightly hair again! You must avoid bleaching, plucking, threading and waxing hair for 4-8 weeks prior to treatment (depending on the area). The only thing allowed is shaving or triming. You can also shave in between treatments, and this will not affect the Laser or make the hair any stronger. Plucking or waxing can cause stimulation of new hair growth in hormonal areas such as the chin & upper lip.

What to expect during the session

The patient and practitioner must wear eye protection to protect their eyes from the laser beam.

A topical anaesthetic cream can be purchased and applied one hour before.

A hand-piece is placed on the area to be treated. This delivers the laser pulse.

Treatment can take anywhere from ten minutes to over an hour, depending on the size of the area being treated.

Is it painful?

GENTLEMAX PRO prepares the skin for treatment with the patented Dynamic Cooling Device( DCD) A cryogen spray is applied to the skin surface prior to the laser pulse, and for varying lengths of time (several milliseconds). The DCD process minimizes pain and discomfort during the treatment. 

Which areas can be treated?

All areas can be treated: Face, upper lip, cheeks, chin, ears, areola, neck, chest, abdomen, arms, shoulders, bikini line, bum, Brazilian, legs and back. 

Is hair removal guaranteed?

No aesthetic or medical treatment comes with a guarantee, results can vary from person to person and there would be no way of knowing other than to provide industry statistic averages based on the technology we use and frequency of treatments. There is 10% of the population that will not respond and there is always a risk that hair may be stimulated at first on the face on women before being able to be removed.
