Lash Lift Client FAQ
Lash Lift Client FAQ
What is lash lift?
This is a unique procedure designed for those who want longer-looking and curled lashes without the use of curlers. The process takes anywhere from 45-60 minutes to complete.
Is this a lash perm?
This is not the typical lash perm you may have heard about in the 80’s! The solutions have been refined, made more healthful for lashes, and placements have evolved. The lash life has come a long way since then; each lash is lifted one-by-one at the root, which allows them to look longer and well, lifted!
Should I do eyelash extensions or the lash lift?
If you already have long and thick lashes, then a lash lift can help you have fabulous curl and keep a naturally glam look.
The lash lift is great for anyone who is used to applying oil-based products around their eyes or who cannot lay still long enough during the eyelash extension process. Alternatively, eyelash extensions are recommended for anyone who has shorter lashes or is really looking to add thickness or fullness. you are always welcome to do both.
*This service is not suitable for those with latex allergies.
How long does it last?
Most people naturally shed 2-4 lashes a day, so our clients typically come back for the next lash lift in 8 weeks.
How should I prepare for my appointment?
Remove all makeup with a water-based remover (you want to avoid all oil beforehand) Remove contacts or bring your case/solution with you. Book a consultation to have a patch test. Shower beforehand because you cannot get the lashes wet for 12hrs min-24hrs.
What should I do post-treatment?
Avoid water & sauna for 24 hours. Also avoid rubbing your eyes. We recommend avoiding heavy makeup or facial procedures for 24 hours as well.
What is the aftercare?
Aftercare is very simple. Keep lashes dry and away from steam for 24 hours.
How do I get fills?
You don’t! You go through the same process each time.
Who is the procedure not good for?
Clients who are pregnant, nursing, have chronic dry eye, conjunctivitis , damaged lashes with gaps, eye infections, trichotillomania, have recently undergone chemotherapy or have extremely short natural lashes. You need to wait a year after having Lasik or blepharoplasty surgery.
Will it damage my natural lashes?
Absolutely not. Your technician has received professional advanced training, is confident and has performed this service many times.
Can I use it with an eyelash growth serum?
Your lashes may grow/shed faster but the combination has great results since the serum may make your lashes longer but not add the curl of the lash lift.
Does the Lash Lift & Curl procedure hurt?
No the procedure is totally painless. You will have your eyes closed for the entire treatment and although it may feel a little strange being unable to open your eyes for this time, it offers you a chance to relax during the treatment.
Will I have a reaction to the products?
Very few people have a reaction to the products but that doesn’t mean you won’t be one of them. What one person reacts to, another is fine with. This is why you are required to have a patch test 24 hours beforehand.A patch test is quick and simple. It consists of us placing 2 drops of both solutions and glue behind the ear for 15 minutes. Wiping if off and waiting to see if any subsequent irritation occurs over the next 24 hrs such as redness, itching or inflammation for example.
I have had lash lift before with another therapist, do I still have to have a patch test?
This may seem an inconvenience, especially if you are keen to have it done. The products used for the previous lift may differ from the ones we use on you and we would have no way of knowing. We therefore have to test you just like a first-time client. This is for your own health/well-being. It is also a legal requirements that forms part of our agreement with our insurers.
Can I wear makeup after my lash lift?
Yes, but it is advised that you leave your lashes untouched for at least 24 hours after your treatment. You may find that there is no need for mascara anyway, but if you wish to make your lashes even fuller, a non- waterproof mascara is advised as the removal of waterproof mascaras can be harsh on the lashes and weaken the lift.
